Reports for Surveillance and Mining Subcommittee
Reports are tabled at either the Surveillance or Mining Subcommittee meeting prior to the DSC meeting.
The Surveillance and Mining Subcommittee meetings are usually held one week before the DSC meeting. If you have to submit reports to either of those meetings please make sure that the DSC receives reports not later than 3 weeks prior to the meeting to allow adequate time for review. Reports will be prioritised based on their urgency and staff availability and may be held over until a subsequent meeting.

Annual updating of DSEP contacts
The DSC requires that the contact list in Dam Safety Emergency Plans (DSEPs) be updated by dam owners annually and the revised lists be forwarded to all holders of controlled DSEP copies.
Intermediate reports for tailing dams (annually)
The DSC requires owners of dams that have short and dynamic lives (i.e. predominantly ash and tailings dams) provide copies of their annual reports to the DSC for review (see DSC15).
5 year Surveillance Reports
The DSC requires owners of all prescribed dams to provide Surveillance Reports for these dams one year after construction and then five yearly for DSC to review (see DSC15).
Mining monitoring requirements
The DSC requires mining companies to prepare a management and monitoring plan for mining activities near prescribed dams with regular reporting of relevant parameters (see DSC34).
