Training Schedule
The Dams Safety Committee (DSC) runs an annual training course for mining dam operators at Port Stephens.
It now also runs a Dam Safety Surveillance Course twice a year in Port Macquarie which was previously organised by the Dept. of Water and Energy (DWE).

| Description: | This course is to enable the owner's operation and maintenance personnel to better understand the issues involved in dam safety surveillance, the reasons for the various requirements, and the detailed procedures for carrying out a dam safety surveillance inspection. | This course on "Dam Safety Management for Ash, Tailings and Mining Dams" is being offered to develop practical knowledge of dam safety and to expand on associated field surveillance skills. It is aimed at Mining and Power Station Dam Operators and Inspectors and is particular applicable to those new to dam safety surveillance. This interactive training course will develop awareness and understanding of the importance of surveillance activities to dam owners, third parties and for dam safety compliance. |
