Dam location
The location of prescribed dams in NSW is shown in the DSC Annual Report (see "Appendix B-2008-Current Prescribed Dams in NSW" on page 41). They are mainly located in populated areas to suit community needs. Main aspects that effect the siting of dams include:

appropriate foundation;

availability of construction materials;

river flow and site yield characteristics;

environmental considerations; and

economic considerations.
