All mining projects require a significant amount of investigation and planning before going through regulatory approval processes, then the mining operations through to decommissioning and mine closure. When these mining projects are planned near dams, considerably more efforts are required to ensure the ongoing safety of the dams and their storages. This section outlines the DSC involvement to ensure dam safety in the various stages of mining operations near dams.
