Have your say [Back to home page]
The Dams Safety Committee is a NSW State Government Statutory Authority with the role of ensuring the safety of dams in NSW, and of protecting certain dams from the effects of mining. Click here to find out more about the Committee’s role.
The draft Information Sheets present proposed policies and procedures. They were produced following a consideration of recently updated national guidelines and have been the subject of considerable discussion among the Committee members, staff, and related organisations. Nevertheless the Committee recognises the value of wider review and comment and therefore welcomes your input.
The Committee aims to produce practical and effective policies and procedures that are consistent with international standards and that reflect the standards of care expected by the community. We suggest that you can help with this process if:
However comments from anyone in relation to any aspect covered in the draft Information Sheets are welcome.
The draft Information Sheets will be “on display” at this site for a period of not less than 3 months. The deadline for receipt of comments on a particular sheet is indicated in the table below. At the conclusion of the “on display” period the Committee will take into consideration all comments received.
These draft Information Sheets have been prepared for review and comment ONLY. They do not represent current policies or procedures. They should not be used as an indication of current policies or procedures, nor should it be assumed that these draft Information Sheets will be adopted in the future. In all cases users should refer to the current Information Sheet for information in the Committee’s current policy and procedures.
