Dams Safety NSW has published an Operations and maintenance plans guideline.
The Dams Safety Act 2015 and the Dams Safety Regulation 2019 specify requirements for operations and maintenance plans for declared dams.
The purpose of this guideline is to provide dam owners and operators with guidance on the preparation and implementation of an operations and maintenance plan for their dam. An effective operations and maintenance plan will minimise the likelihood of dam failure. It will also ensure that adequate information is available to stakeholders to validate that the dam is being operated and maintained in a safe manner.
