Dams Safety NSW welcomes your feedback, questions, comments and complaints. We keep the NSW dam community at the heart of what we do, and use your feedback to improve what we do and how we do it.

We try to answer questions within 5 working days. If you submit a complaint, please allow a little longer for investigation, and we aim to respond within 20 working days.

Report an incident

If a serious incident or injury occurs at, or is related to, a declared dam you must report it to Dams Safety NSW as soon as possible after the incident by calling 0403 681 645 (24 hours/7 days a week)

You must also complete and submit the online Incident reporting form no more than 72 hours after the incident, even if you have already called us to report it.

Translation and accessibility

For translation and interpreter services, please call 13 14 50 and ask the interpreter to phone 13 77 88.

If you are deaf, hard of hearing and/or have a speech impairment, contact us through the National Relay Service. Choose your access option and ask for 13 77 88 when asked by the relay office.

To maintain and improve the quality of the services we provide, we are committed to addressing feedback and resolving complaints fairly and thoroughly.

If you have compliments, complaints, or general feedback, email us at info@damsafety.nsw.gov.au. Your feedback will be sent to the right team to action. We will acknowledge your feedback within three working days with more details.
