Information for declared dam owners
Dams Safety NSW continues to monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and the effect it has on businesses in NSW.
Engaging with declared dam owners
Dams Safety NSW is consulting with declared dam owners to explain the requirements of the new legislation, and determine if dam owners have adequate and appropriate systems in place to manage dams safety risks.
Regulatory obligations/Compliance issues
We understand that as the COVID-19 situation progresses some declared dam owners may experience increasing difficulties in meeting some regulatory obligations.
If Dams Safety NSW identifies that declared dam owners don’t have the required documents in place, we will take a reasonable and pragmatic approach to issues as they arise – provided that public safety is not compromised – in line with our Regulatory Policy.
Incident reporting
Declared dam owners must continue to notify us of incidents as defined under clause 19 of the Dams Safety Regulation 2019. If you need to make an oral report call 0403 681 645.
